Concept: PATH – JOURNEY – SURFACE
The project developed from a brief research on the cultural heritage of Rio.
Indigenous art draws inspiration from the surface of nature and reveals much about our history. This influenced me to use the surface of the city of Rio, a World Heritage Site as an Urban Cultural Landscape, as a reference for the design.
The aesthetics were inspired by indigenous graphics and abstractionism through the works of landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, who created the mosaics along Copacabana Beach.
